This Is How to Wear Black Tights With All Your Dresses

Tights weather is fast approaching, whether or not you're ready for the cold months that lie ahead. Although we love how black tights give us the ability to wear all our favorite dresses through the harsh winter, they should hardly be an afterthought when putting together your outfit. There are certain things to keep in mind when wearing tights to avoid seriously unstylish mistakes. Some things are obvious, like avoiding brightly colored tights unless they're part of your Halloween costume or pairing dark opaque tights with a lightly colored dress. Since we're pretty sure you know how to keep your tights looking sleek and stylish in a winter outfit, there are a few ways to make the classic tights-and-dress combo feel fresh for the current season.

Instead of putting on tights as an excuse to wear your short party dresses out all through the winter, opt for a longer midi dress. One that hits just at or below the knee looks so chic and polished over tights. For a cool layered look, add a chic overcoat on top, and for some texture, opt for subtly patterned tights or even fishnets.
